Press Release
28 November 2008
In recent months the country has witnessed a spate of killing and intimidation in different parts of
the country.
We strongly condemn all these acts of violence that have resulted in loss of innocent people. It is
clear that whoever is responsible for such violence should be severely punished and all measures be taken to protect the lives
of ordinary citizens under threat from their activities.
We find it deeply disturbing that the Nepal government has adopted double
standards in dealing with the two equally deadly series of terrorist killings of
Ritesh Rauniyar , Ashish Manadhar and Nirmal Pant, Pushkar Dangol.
On one
hand Moist condemn the killings and on the other hand their sister organisation YCL is actively involve on those horrendous
act. We strongly denounce those atrocities against the innocent people and specifically towards the people of different ideology.
In this
context of utter hypocrisy of the Government we would like to demand the followings:
·
The
Moist led government to stop all kind of violence by all means and create an atmosphere of healing
and reconciliation.
·
The Youth communist league should be
dissolved with immediate effect in order to renounce absolute violent and demonstrate the commitment to build peace and prosperous
Nepal.
·
We also urge to return back all the
seized properties and stop all sorts of intimidation and torture in different parts of the country.
·
Stringent punishment for those organising
and participating in killings and terror act.
·
Respect the rule of law and
safeguard the fundamental human rights of the people.
